An interview show with the stars and directors of the hottest and latest US releases. Episode 8 features director Wes Anderson, Oscar-nominated actor Christopher Plummer and writer Peter Biskind.

2009 can be described as the zenith of Christopher Plummer’s 50 year acting and stage career. He starred in four of year’s most anticipated films (three of which have been Oscar nominated); Up, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus (in which he played the title character), 9 and The Last Station, which gave Plummer his first Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor. Plummer discusses this role and his theatrical experiences. He also reminisces about the movie that made him an iconic international star, The Sound of Music (1965), where he played Captain Von Trapp.

Wes Anderson may well have the most enviable directorial career in Hollywood. He has written and directed some of the most distinctive and quirky films in the last 15 years while constantly working with a band of luminaries such as Bill Murray, Owen Wilson and Angelica Houston (to name a few). Anderson’s sense of independence is evident in his newest feature, Fantastic Mr. Fox, an animated take on Roald Dahl’s classic story, whereby Anderson favoured traditional stop motion animation over CGI. The technique has been well received resulting in the film’s Oscar nomination for Best Animation. In this interview Anderson talks about this process as well as his debut feature, Bottle Rocket (1996).

Former executive editor of Premiere magazine, Peter Biskind has written a number of film industry ‘must reads’ including Easy Riders, Raging Bulls, in which he unearthed salacious stories of1970s Hollywood. In this interview, best-seller Biskind discusses his new book Star: How Warren Beatty Seduced America and reveals the truth behind Beatty’s Don Juan reputation.
