Cinémoi explores the work of Edgar Degas as seen in the Royal Academy of Arts exhibition Degas and the Ballet: Picturing Movement. The exhibition's curator Ann Dumas provides an insight into the passions and inspirations behind his stunning collection.

Dumas highlights the importance of the advent of photography and cinema to Degas’ work, describing his fascination with the human body and the ways in which its movements can be captured and represented.

Featuring rare footage of Degas himself from Sacha Guitry’s 1915 film Ceux de chez nous.
