Cinémoi presents exclusive coverage from the world's most prestigious film festival. Part 6 of 7.
In episode six the renowned film critic Jason Solomons speaks to Elena Anaya (Talk To Her, Point Blank), star of Pedro Almodóvar’s new film The Skin I Live In, about working with the great director.
Cinémoi also has an exclusive interview with the young actress Anamaria Vartolomei, the wonderful Isabelle Huppert (White Material, The Piano Teacher) and director Eva Ionesco, who cast the two actresses in her debut film My Little Princess, a story about an artist who wants her reluctant daughter to model for her.
Actress and model Keira Chaplin (daughter of the legendary Charlie Chaplin) joins Cinémoi to discuss the importance of being environmentally aware, ahead of the Amfar charity event in Cannes, also attended by the likes of Goldie Hawn, Michelle Rodriguez and Courtney Love.
Meanwhile, Kate Muir, Chief Film Editor of The Times, talks about the scandalous press conference for Lars Von Trier’s latest film Melancholia, as well as her hopes for the winner of this year’s Palme d’Or prize.
Kate also speaks to the great Japanese director Takashi Miike about his new film in competition, Hara-Kiri: Death of a Samurai, which is a more tender and domestic outing for the director who is more well-known for the notoriously gruesome Audition (2000).
Izzy Lawrence takes a stroll along the beach at night, discovering an outdoor cinema which screens films for free and aims to give the general public a taste of the great atmosphere of the festival. This special event was born seven years ago as a homage to Jacques Tati.
On top of all this, we get the low-down on all the hottest trends causing a stir on the red carpet.
Cinémoi Cannes is brought to you by Renault, the official sponsor of the Cannes Film Festival.
