Now 17 years old, Antoine Doinel works in an LP factory. He meets the icy Colette (Marie-France Pisier) at a concert. Love struck, he soon sets about courting her.

For his contribution to the portmanteau project entitled Love at Twenty (with others emanating from the esteemed likes of Rossellini, Ishihara, Ophuls and Wajda), Truffaut brought Jean-Pierre Léaud back to the screen in his defining role for the second time. The increasing exuberance yet awkwardness of the maturing actor, plays perfectly in this short comedy of manners. Thankfully, we would be gifted with three more features exploring his character’s development.
