George Clooney’s new film Suburbicon, showing in competition at the Venice Film Festival, was received with roaring applause.
The film itself is a mordant comic noir pastiche, written by Joel and Ethan Coen, with remarkable performances by Matt Damon and Julianne Moore.
Suburbicon is indeed a suburban satire, taking comfortable aim at the aspirational values and regressive prejudices of 1950s middle America.
Maestro Clooney is practically the patron saint of the Italian festival. He’s here most years, and even one year when he wasn’t, he graced the city with the biggest celebrity wedding.
He came with his wife Amal Clooney. Keep scrolling for photos on the red carpet, and don’t miss the Premiere of Cinémoi Goes To Venice 2017 on Sunday, September 10th!
